Keys on keyboard stick due to bad keyboard.
Cause:
An unknown problem causes the keys to stick.
Solution:
Replace the existing keyboard with a new keyboard.
1) Save all work and exit all programs.
2) Turn off the computer.
3) Follow the keyboard cable to the back of the computer and unplug it from the keyboard port.
4) Discard the old keyboard.
5) Examine the new keyboard plug for an arrow or notch on the outer surface. This notch should line up at the top of the socket on the back of the computer.
NOTE: If there is no notch, match the pin configuration on the plug with the pinhole pattern on the socket.
6) Match the plug to the socket on the back of the computer and carefully insert it.
NOTE: If the socket is a PS/2 style connector, make sure to use the keyboard socket (not the mouse socket).
CAUTION: Do not force the plug into the socket. This could damage the pins on the plug or the socket.
7) Turn the keyboard over and look for an XT/AT switch. If one is present, set switch to AT position.
NOTE: Not all keyboards have an XT/AT switch.
8) Turn on the computer.
9) If a keyboard error appears, turn off the computer and carefully reseat the keyboard plug. Turn on the computer and try again.
